QB Josh Freeman finished 23-of-41 passing for 303 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions this afternoon for a quarterback rating of 95.9. It marks the second 300-yard passing performance of Freeman’s career, as he also recorded the longest completion of his career, a 65-yard touchdown pass to WR Arrelious Benn. Freeman added his second touchdown pass of the day on a 19-yard strike to WR Preston Parker. The two touchdowns marked the 11th multi-touchdown pass game of Freeman’s career and his first this season.
After entering today’s game with two interceptions this season, the Buccaneers more than doubled their total, thanks to interceptions by S Tanard Jackson, CB E.J. Biggers and a game-clinching interception by LB Quincy Black. It was just the 13th time Saints QB Drew Brees has thrown three or more interceptions in a game in his career, with two of those coming at the hands of the Buccaneers. For their careers, Jackson now has nine interceptions, Biggers has two and Black has three.
WR Preston Parker recorded the second touchdown reception of his career today on a 19-yard pass by Freeman. Parker finished with two receptions for 32 yards.
WR Mike Williams finished today’s game with a team-high six receptions for 59 yards, with a long of 19.
TE Zack Pianalto recorded the first reception of his career today.
