In baseball, the role of an ace is often said to be to step in and lead the team to a win when the team is down.  That is why it is so nice for the Angels to have three, arguably four, aces.  As such, this would be the ideal game for Dan Haren to don his ace cap, or should it be a cape?  I think an ace should wear a cape, because capes are for heroes… but I digress.  The problem is that Haren’s cap/cape may not be available to him since he is allegedly still battling a nasty case of dead arm.

Let’s hope that the answer is “yes” because the Angels really need an ace for today’s game.  The offense just isn’t clicking and they are now on the verge of dropping their first two series of the season, both of which would be to AL Central teams that will likely finish the season with losing records.  This we cannot abide.  Time for that dead arm to come alive!
