Summary:

The Grizzlies went to double overtime last night in Phoenix, losing 123-118.  Every starter played 40+ minutes, with both Rudy Gay and O.J. Mayo going over the 50 minutes played mark.  They featured balance scoring with Gay and Gasol going for 26 and Mayo adding 23.  Last season the Grizzlies led the league in minutes played by their top five player combination and it looks like they intend to do more of the same this year.

If the Kings hope to slow the Grizzlies tonight, they are going to need to limit Rudy Gay.  Coming off a summer playing for team USA, Gay is averaging 26.3 points and 6.5 points per game in a little over 41 minutes.  He is flanked by O.J Mayo who is averaging 18.7 points and Mike Conley Jr. who finally seems to be having his break out year, averaging 15.8 points and 8.8 assists.  Zach Randolph is always a tough cover for the Kings and Marc Gasol is a player who has improved greatly every year.

The Kings starting line-up will feature Samuel Dalembert for the first time this season.  His defense and rebounding should come in handy against a very good offensive Memphis team.  Look for the benches to play an important role in tonight’s game for both teams.  The Kings hope to feature their big line-up of Darnell Jackson, Jason Thompson and DeMarcus Cousins while the Grizzlies are going to need someone to step up after last nights marathon versus Phoenix.  With Luther Head missing the game, look for rookie Pooh Jeter to get a handful of minutes and Francisco Garcia to play a major role.

Prediction:  Kings 108   Grizzlies 98
