I have this sinking feelng in the pit of my stomach that things are not going to get any better. Something dark and foreboding is happening in the land of the Halo and right now and I can’t seem to see the bottom of the pit. The Angels can’t score runs and it seems that the defense is starting to fail them on a nightly basis. The bullpen has been a travesty and lord help up if the starters give up more than two runs. If the Angels don’t turn this around and quickly we might be stareing at a very long summer. Not that I am a pessimist or anything…
Monkey, See Monkey Do Expect Ervin Santana to pitch well enough to keep the Angels in the game. Santana seems to have mastered the ability to stick around a be in the discussion for a decision every time he pitches. Call it the Kevin Appier Approach. Santana has gone six innings in his last three starts and that seems to be the right number for tonight.
Monkey See, Monkey Don’t Mike Scioscia will trot out this new line-up and the result will probably not change. I can’t see any combination of hiiters that will yield more production. You can pretty much stick Vernon Wells anywhere and he will suck. Jeff Mathis can strike out in the nine hole just as well as he can hitting eighth. It seems double plays will find Torii Hunter just as easily hitting second as they did when he “hit” cleanup. So another night of frustration at the plate I feel is afoot.
The Monkey’s Bananas Prediction of the Day Not even the promise of broadcaster adorned rally masks can save the Halos right now. It gets worse before it gets better and the Angels fall for the sixth straight time. I will then sob myself to sleep silently…
(sorry for the short post, I wil try to make it up with Twitter rantings during the @lyonszen for those interested in sharing my misery)
