Game Quotes

Andre Iguodala spoke about playing the Thunder at yesterday mornings practice.

“I think it’s just two very good teams, who are trying to force their will on the other team. It’s kinda like two walls of steel clashing, we’re just seeing who’s gonna bend first. So it’s always a lot of fun going against those guys, and they have a bit of an edge to them. We have a few young guns who are really trying to show the league who they are, building an ego about themselves. So it’s always a good match-up.”

Steve Kerr on Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook, from yesterdays practice.

“Phenomenal, phenomenal. Electric is probably the word. When we played them last time here, they blitzed us right away and got up 17 points. In the NBA everybody’s athletic and everybody is strong and quick. These guys take it to another level. You almost have to adapt to the speed when it comes, because you can’t simulate it in practice. Westbrook is shot out of a cannon and Durant is 6’11”, handling the ball, shooting three’s off crossovers. You just don’t see that. You have to adapt quickly to this team or they’ll do what they did last time to us. Which was just, right out of the gate, just hit you with a haymaker and then you’re playing catch-up.”
