There was literally nothing worth keeping about this game. The offense once again failed to show up. Ervin Santana pitched well but gave up a costly home run. And oh yeah . . . THE FREAKIN OFFENSE DIDN’T SHOW UP!!!!!!

Game Notes
— As Monkey contributer Scott Allen noted on Twitter, Mike Trout is really good but he needs to rethink his plate approach. Trout has yet to swing at a first pitch since his call up. Pitchers know this and will groove one down the plate at Trout, who’ll instantly be in the hole. This leads him to playing defense with his swing and not taking advantage of his god-given talents. Hey Mike, change it up a bit. Swing for once.
— Do you realize the Angels didn’t get a runner to third until the bottom on the ninth, with two outs? I think that says a lot.
— Ervin Santana was acutally pretty good tonight but he has to be perfect to even be in a game. Do you think he knew he was going to lose the second he gave up the three run homer? Do you think he starts throwing things in the clubhouse when someone shares with him that his mates haven’t scored a run for him in five straight starts?
— On back to back nights, the opposing pitcher threw a complete game shutout on less than 100 pitches. I don’t even know what to do with that stat, but it looks bad to me.
Really I could go on and on about the Angels futility, but I think a large scale drinking binge would be a better use of my time.
Halo A Hole
Okay Albert, this isn’t funny anymore. You are getting paid a hell of a lot of money to hit under .200. We already have Vernon Wells to do that for us (and for less money, to boot). If you think just because Angel fans have a history of being laid back means you can steal from us with your craptacular play, you’ve got another thing coming. This is just embarrassing for all of us.
