The Angels are headed back out on the road again. You might recall that last time the Halos had a road trip, it didn’t exactly go so well (one win, five losses, multiple injuries, general embarrassment). This time though, the Angels will be heading east, starting with the Baltimore Orioles for a two-game set.
The Halos did just drop two of three against the Mariners at home, but I would think they are feeling pretty good about themselves right now. All of the sudden the offense is starting to click with Howie Kendrick busting out of his slump and a few Angels breaking the non-Hunter homer drought in recent days. Even the Angel bullpen has looked a notch below awful for the first time all year (though I am still terrified that Justin Speier and Rafael Rodriquez are the only relievers with a sub-5.00 ERA).
Joe Saunders gets the call tonight to face off against Adam Eaton and his 7.04 ERA. Sounds like a great way to start out a roadie to me.
What to Watch For:
- Joe Saunders vs. lefty sluggers Nick Markakis and Aubrey Huff. Who will have the edge?
- Continuing the Angles power surge: six straight games with a homer and counting.
- Was Scot Shields’ shutout inning on Sunday a mirage or has he figured out his issues?
As always, leave a comment and hang out with us to chat throughout the game.
