Hey, I remember this guy…
For a minute there I forgot the Angels actually had real pitchers on the roster. Ervin Santana is kicking off the parade of returning Angel pitchers today in the rubber game versus the Boston Red Sox.
Questions of the Night:
- How deep can Ervin go? His last rehab start had an 80-pitch limit and the Angels would obviously be wise to monitor his workload. Crap, that means we’ll have to use the bullpen. Can’t we just start Matt Palmer every night?
- Kendrick is sitting tonight, but why? He is starting to show patience at the plate and generally seems close to figuring it out. Scioscia is a big fan of the mental health day, but Kendrick just sat four games ago. This seems counter-productive to me.
- How close are the Angels to just moving Abreu to the two-hole? With no pop in his bat, he profile much better up a spot in the order and the Angels lack a real two-hole hitter anyway. Why not move everyone up a slot, giving guys like Napoli a chance to get more at-bats and RBI opportunities.
As always, hang out with us here, leave a comment and join the discussion during the game.
