Gamecocks Backup Running Back Jarvis Giles Set to Transfer

Liriano

According to reliable sources and The Big Spur, USC Gamecocks running back Jarvis Giles has left the team and plays to transfer immediately.

This should not surprise anyone as his reltaionship with the coaching has been rocky but most importantly is his playing time has been greatly reduced due to the emergence of Marcus Lattimore.

He was listed behind Brian Maddox, Kenny Miles and Marcus.  There was no daylight for the sophomore in the future.

He had two carries in 2010 for 13 yards.  In 2009, he had 277 yards rushing.  He has loads of talent and at the time was a prized recruit but the guys in front of him are just a wee better.

This notion of him leaving the program has been discussed before in 2010 but I, along with many, thought it would occur after the 2010 season.  Again, him leaving is not shocking it is more of the timing factor.  But this season has had loads of drama so what is a little dose of a transfer story to keep it going….

We here at LOHD wish him future success in his new home.

*As the update on “where” he goes comes available we will post it.
