LaShay Page is visiting the University of South Carolina and the rumor is that he is likely to pledge to be a member of the Gamecocks basketball team.
The 6-foot-2 senior guard from Dillon, S.C., was Southern Miss’s second-leading scorer for the 2011-12 campaign, averaging 11.6 points per game while making a team-high 75 3-pointers.
Jeff Goodman from CBS Sports sent out a tweet indicating that LaShay Page will transfer to South Carolina to finish out his college basketball career.
If this proves true, which we feel is going to happen, the South Carolina basketball team gains a guard that can both score and dish. He’s a veteran player who knows what it takes and with a semi-young team, this could be a needed boost in 2012.
Page desires to be closer to home due to the death of mother on Feb. 22. USC is about as close as you can get and should satisfy the wish to play in front of his dad and daughter.
I am sure USC will welcome him home and we look forward to having Mr. Page in the garnet and black.
