The Cleveland Browns selected Clifton Geathers of South Carolina with their sixth round pick, the number 186th pick overall today in the NFL Draft.
Geathers is a tall 6 foot 7 inch right around 295lbs that is seen as “raw” and could take a few seasons to truly reach his potential. I am glad he got picked up in the 6th round but still feel he should have stuck around USC for one more year. Don’t get me wrong, he is a special player that will do great things in the NFL all in due time but why not one more year to potentially go higher next year. Point is, Geathers is a load of talent and nothing but upside. Smart move by the Browns to take him with their last pick as quote me on this – it will prove wise.
Geathers is the brother of Robert Geathers, a defensive end for the Cincinnati Bengals, and the nephew of former NFL defensive tackle Jumpy Geathers.
