The South Carolina Gamecocks are set to battle the Trojans of Troy on Saturday as they look to win extend their record to 8-3 on the season and 3-0 versus Troy. In this game there are a few things to look out for dealing with Marcus Lattimore, Alshon Jeffery and Stephen Garcia.
Lattimore –
—With one TD he claims sole possession of the all-time single season TD record at USC. He is currently tied with 16 TDs with Harold Green (1987).
—Lattimore needs just 36 more yards to get to 1,000 for the season becoming just the 7th different player to rush for 1,000 yards in a singe season at USC and the 1st since Derek Watson who had 1,066 yards in 2000.
Alshon –
—Needs 26 yards to move into 8th all-time in receiving yards at USC
—He needs 56 more yards to set the all-time USC single-season record for receiving yards
Garcia –
—Needs just 78 passing yards to pass Blake Mitchell for 3rd all-time in career passing yards at USC.
South Carolina has never had a 1,000-yard rusher and a 1,000-yard receiver in the same season. Alshon is already over the 1,000-yard plateau. Lattimore needs just 36 yards to reach the other mark. This would be a first.
