Gamecocks football recruitng had a busy weekend as Wesley Green committed and shortly thereafter Darin Smalls followed suit with a pledge to join the South Carolina football team.
Three-star defensive back Darin Smalls (Summerville/Summerville) had for a long time favored the Gamecocks so this does not come as too much of a surprise. The 5-foot-11, 205-pound prospect chose the Gamecocks over offers from Clemson, Florida State, Kentucky, and Tennessee among many others.
Smalls is ranked the No. 34 cornerback in the country and the No. 12 prospect in South Carolina. He will play either defensive back or safety.
