The South Carolina football team picked up a big verbal commitment on Friday night when Monroe (NC) Sun Valley wide receiver Jody Fuller announced he wants to be a Gamecock.
The 6-foot, 205-pounder picked USC over offers from Arkansas, Clemson, Maryland, Miami, Michigan, North Carolina, NC State, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest, and several others.
Fuller, the nation’s No. 16 receiver prospect, is rated as a four star prospect by Rivals and according to 247Sports; he is a four-star prospect with an overall grade of 94.
Fuller has 4.4 speed with good hands and can get the separation needed at the collegiate level. Last season Fuller caught 77 passes for 845 yards and 16 touchdowns.
He is the second receiver to commit to the Gamecocks, joining Kwinton Smith.
Fuller was at ESPN/Nike’s “The Opening” a combine for high school football players. At this event, he performed really strong as seen in these numbers:

The above scores gave him a final SPARQ rating of 115.4 putting him the top 25 and 5th among WRs.

Fuller is the twelfth overall verbal commitment in the 2012 class for South Carolina.
