Granted, all the concerns don’t just go away. The Colts are still banged up. They will need more quality efforts from the likes of backups such as TE Jacob Tamme, RB Mike Hart and WR Anthony Gonzalez.
But it was an encouraging effort. Despite missing several key guys, including CB Jerraud Powers, the Colts shut down the Texans early, built a comfortable lead, then put the visitors away in the final quarter with time-consuming possessions.
