Tonight, Vernon Wells thought he was going to be a hero. Instead, this happened, which might just be the most Vernon Wells thing to ever happen:
I like to think that Vernon's thought process in chasing down this homer went a little something like this…
"Man, this is going to be awesome. I'm gonna steal this homer just like Trout and everyone will finally love me! I got it. I got it. I got it! Here we go… hero time!!!! Nooooo!!!!! I must hide my shame."
And then he disappeared into the stands, never to be seen again. Or at least that is probably what Angel fans were hoping. Unfortunately, he emerged from the seats with a rather sheepish look on his face a few moments later.
Oh, Vernon. You just can't win.
