Giles vetoes deal, remains in San Diego

Brian Giles has apparently vetoed the possibility of being shipped off to Boston. According to ESPN;

Among the issues that came up was location — Giles, who grew up in San Diego, did not want to leave family behind — and there was the concern about playing time with the Red Sox.

I’ll stand by my belief that Theo and team never expected a trade to be worked out with the Padres and this move was a straight away block from Giles possibly filling a need for the Tampa Bay Rays.
