After winning their first exhibition match up yesterday by defeating Paraguay, Manu Ginobili and the Argentinian National team returned to work tonight with a 64 point annihilation over Basque Country. Final score: 92 to 28.
San Antonio Spurs’ Ginobili finished with 10 points, one rebound, four assists on 4/8 shooting from the field. Ginobili shot 2/5 from three point range in 16 minutes of action.
Philadelphia 76ers’ Andres Nocioni once again led Argentina with 24 points while Milwaukee Bucks’ Carlos Delfino scored 16 points. Houston Rockets’ Luis Scola and former Spur Fabricio Oberto were in warm-ups tonight, but neither saw any floor time.
They didn’t need the big guys as Argentina held Basque Country to making just 9 out of 58 shots (16% FG). Five of Basque’s shots made were three pointers. Argentina outscored Basque in points in the paint 22 to 4. Argentina shot 44% for the game.
Ginobili once again played without the massive brace that he used in the Spurs’ playoff series versus Memphis which shows signs that his arm is right on the brink of full recovery.
