Glad to Meet You

Greetings to the NetSet nation!  My name is Bill Harvey and I am pleased and honored to contribute to this blog about the greatest sport in existence. I would like to thank Aly for her kind words introducing me and I hope to live up to them. I live in St. Louis, Missouri, now and anticipate remaining there forever.  It’s the only city in the world with a handle you can grab (aka the Arch).

Yes, as Aly said in her intro, I am a former: 1) volleyball coach; 2) college, high school, and club referee; 3) club parent; and 4) club administrator.

I am a parent of a men’s college volleyball player and an amateur volleyball statistician.  I am also a fan (probably fanatic) who follows world league, beach, the NCAA, the NAIA, the CCCAA, the CIS, and the CCAA men’s volleyball.  “Wow” (as Steve Vail from BYU TV says) so many acronyms, I wonder what they all really mean?  Let’s save that for another blog, ok?

So, in closing out this first contact, let me humbly say I look forward to serving the NetSet community with information, humor, fun, and hopefully some insight into this great sport and the people in it.  Together I hope we can see this sport continue to grow and prosper. You can contact me at [email protected] or @VBdepot on Twitter. I look forward to hearing from you.

Now, let’s talk Volleyball!
