A couple of weekends ago, I visited my parents’ house. While there, I remembered about an unlicensed shirt that my dad has. He got it for Christmas or something. I found it and took a picture of myself in it. But I had to flip around the image in MS Paint so you could see the reverse of what was in the mirror. And since I already had MS Paint open, I decided to give myself a wacky hairdo, glasses and a mustache.
The shirt itself is from Ben’s first season in the league. Next to his nickname on the shirt, you can see the numbers 86, 82 and 80. Those were Ben’s WRs from his rookie season…Hines Ward, Antwaan Randle El and Plaxico Burress. I decided it was good enough time to run this one, what with the Steelers bringing back Randle El and the fact that we had another Randle El-themed shirt earlier in the week.
Despite Burress leaving after Ben’s rookie season, this shirt didn’t become outdated. Cedrick Wilson stepped in the following year and wore 80, making this shirt valuable to the Super Bowl XL run.
I guess it’s good to wear again…since Hines is still around, I’d assume Randle El would take his old 82 and we have some thing named a Eugene Bright occupying the number 80 on the team right now.
