The Warriors’ coaching staff spoke about the result of a strong work ethic and highlighted elements of the offense they hope to put in place at Summer League practice today in Las Vegas.

Speaking on Draymond Green and how’s he’s been working on his jump shot, Head Coach Steve Kerr said:

“He’s shooting a ton. It’s great. That’s why guys in this league get better. If you want to spend all day shooting you’re free to. Nobody in the NCAA is telling you (that) you can only work for two hours a week or two hours a day on your shooting… I’ve told you guys that’s something we really need on our roster and Draymond and Harrison (Barnes) can both help in that regard.”

Luke Walton and Alvin Gentry also spoke about what they hope to bring to the coaching staff both during Summer League and the regular season.
Walton, who showed some of the unique flair that made him a fan favorite for the Los Angeles Lakers with a salmon-colored polo shirt at last night’s game, said the Warriors want to be a ball-movement team.
“We want to be a team where the ball never stops. Just constant movement and with the talent that we have we feel like if we can play that way we’ll be really hard to stop,” Walton said.
On what he brings to the coaching staff, Walton added:
“I think that’s one of the reasons Steve brought me up here. My understanding of the game… We’re gonna run parts of the triangle offense and every chance I have when I see things (I’ll) be able to pass on what I’ve learned to these other guys, that’s what I’ll be doing.”
Alvin Gentry also highlighted the importance of ball movement, but also talked about the need to get Steph Curry and Klay Thompson open shots, as well as the contributions of Andrew Bogut:
“You want to get Steph as many shots as you can you wanna get Klay as many shots as you can… I think people don’t realize the importance of an Andrew Bogut, to have him there, he’s a great screener. He puts pressure on rolling to the basket they didn’t have that in the playoffs. I think he’ll add another element to what we’re trying to do.”
He also made it clear that the team still plans on using many concepts to develop their offensive scheme, as Kerr has said in the past.
“It’s a good basketball team and we’ll try to incorporate a lot of things offensively and try to see if we can get a little more ball movement,” Gentry said.
