Here is what Golf Channel is airing this week as far as original programming is concerned. I’m really hooked on Big Break Sandals Resort this summer. Seema is my favorite. In addition, Golf in America looks at how the BP oil spill has affected golf tourism on the Gulf Coast.

· Gulf Coast / BP Oil Spill – Golf Tourism has been a big part of the economy along the Gulf Coast for more than 100 years. It also will play a vital role in the tourism recovery following the BP Oil Spill. Golf in America’s Jim Axelrod will examine the economic impact the oil spill is having on the area and what it will take to resurrect the area that was once hit by Hurricane Katrina.· A.J. Montecinos – Tim Rosaforte will share with viewers the background story on A.J. Montecinos, caddy for Y.E. Yang. Montecinos learned how to play golf in Midland, Texas, and in the Beaumont, Calif., area. After an unsuccessful attempt to earn his PGA TOUR card, Montecinos turned to caddying as his main line of work. He eventually got a call to be on the bag for Yang in 2007 and they have been a team since. Montecinos, who speaks little Korean, helped his boss, who speaks little English, pull off one of the biggest upsets in defeating Tiger Woods at the 2009 PGA Championship.· Atlantic City Country Club – Golf in America will give viewers a tour of history at Atlantic City Country Club, where “Play a Round with History” is the course slogan. Originally built in 1897, the course was where the term “birdie” was coined in 1903. It has played host to six USGA championships, as well as scores of celebrities who play while entertaining in Atlantic City. The original 1897 clubhouse is incorporated in the current clubhouse that features pictures, sketches, club records and memorabilia adorning the walls. No longer a members’ only club, tit is ranked as New Jersey’s number-one public, daily fee golf course.
