TIGER WOODS RETURNS TO MUIRFIELD AND DEFENDS TITLE AT “THE MEMORIAL TOURNAMENT” ON CBS SPORTS JUNE 5-6
Four-time Memorial Tournament winner and defending champion Tiger Woods returns after three weeks off because of a neck injury to compete against one of the top fields of the year with 13 of the top-15 players in the FedExCup standings, including No. 2 World-ranked  Phil Mickelson, at THE MEMORIAL TOURNAMENT. CBS Sports broadcasts the third and final rounds of the Memorial Tournament on Saturday, June 5 (3:00-6:00 PM, ET) and Sunday, June 6 (1:30-6:00 PM, ET), live from Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin, Ohio.
Jim Nantz, the 2009 Emmy Awar
d Winner for “Outstanding Sports Personality – Play-by-Play” and 2009 National Sportscaster of the Year, serves as anchor of CBS Sports’ golf coverage. Sir Nick Faldo, winner of six major championships and more than 40 tournaments worldwide, serves as lead analyst. Ian Baker-Finch calls the action at the 17th hole and Gary McCord at the 16th hole.  David Feherty and Peter Kostis serve as on-course reporters.
Last year the world’s No. 1 player shot a 7-under 65 on Sunday to beat 2002 Memorial winner Jim Furyk by a stroke and notch his fourth Memorial victory. Three-time Memorial champion Kenny Perry makes his 22nd appearance and has made the cut 16 consecutive times. Two years ago, Perry won with an 8-under-par 280, the highest winning score since 1985.  He also became the oldest winner in this tournament’s history at 47 years, 9 months, 22 days.
World Golf Hall of Fame member Jack Nicklaus hosts this tournament, which he won twice, on his signature designed Muirfield Village Golf Club.  The tournament is themed around people who have contributed to the game of golf and the 2010 Honoree is World Golf Hall of Fame member Seve Ballesteros.
            Woods, Mickelson, Furyk and Perry will compete in a strong field that includes, Steve Stricker, Ernie Els, Rory McIlroy, Geoff Ogilvy, Camilo Villegas, Zach Johnson, Tim Clark, Y.E. Yang, Angel Cabrera, Rickie Fowler, Hunter Mahan, Lucas Glover, Sean O’Hair, Mike Weir, Stewart Cink, Nick Watney, Robert Allenby, K.J. Choi, Dustin Johnson, Adam Scott, Ricky Barnes, Davis Love III, Mark Calcavecchia, Vijay Singh and David Duval.
