According to a report by Phil Miller of the Star Tribune, Minnesota head football coach Jerry Kill has elected to start true-freshman Phillip Nelson at quarterback against Wisconsin on Saturday at Camp Randall Stadium.
Neslon, who was expected to take a redshirt this season, would forfeit his redshirt should he make the start.
