Gostisbehere Showing His Skills

The moment Shayne Gotisbehere got called up he knew he had to make the most of it. So far since his call up he has been playing at an amazing pace. Currently he ranks 10th among all rookie skaters in points with 14. He has been a big addition to the team and has brought a lot of energy along with him. He is the only rookie in Flyers history to have 3 overtime game winners in a season.

He has also been good at other things besides scoring. He is probably the best defenseman on this team right now. His beautiful gameplay style makes him what he is, setting up amazing passes and scoring amazing goals and his great defense. Some were worried that Ron Hextall would send Gostisbehere back to the AHL once Mark Streit was healthy again. But this was not the case as Hextall kept him up in the NHL for the time being and hopefully for the rest of the season.

If Gostisbehere’s current play is any sign of how the future of the Flyers look, then we are certainly in for quite a show. The Flyers are stockpiled with a lot of defenseman talent in the AHL and Juniors and Gostisbehere is hopefully a taste of what is to come in the next few seasons.

The Flyers next take on the Montreal Canadiens on Tuesday. Look for Gostisbehere to make his presence known. That’s all for now, let’s go Flyers!
