Bruce Gradkowski may not see the field again this season after re-injuring his shoulder in Sunday’s loss to Miami.
With the Raiders down 33-17 and under two minutes in the game, Gradkowski was attempting to drive the team down the field for a late touchdown. It came down to a last gasp 4th and 10 to keep the drive alive. It turned out to be the Raiders final offensive play and one in which Gradkowski had to escape a collapsing pocket and improvise. He attempted to pitch the ball to Jacoby Ford who had come back for the ball and he was hit as he threw.
This was Gradkowski’s first start since going out with an injury to the same shoulder late in the week five win over the Chargers. And Bruce told reporters on hand that the pain in his shoulder feels the same as it had with his previous injury. That injury had him recovering for 5 weeks, the exact number of games left in the season.
He will receiver an MRI on the injured shoulder and if it is indeed another third-degree separation as before, he could very well be placed on injured reserve. It appears the decision of whether or not to go with Jason Campbell as the starter has been made for them.
