GreenLight Madness: #5 Seed vs #28 Seed

The madness continues byond the top 4 plays of the year but not before the previous two matchups were voted on and two plays won the clear vote.  The third seed, Pierce’s bomb in Game 5 easily beat Stiemsma’s block on Josh Smith.  However, in a huge upset, Pierce’s three to move ahead of Larry Bird into second all-time on the Celtics’ scoring list got 3/4 of the vote over Ray Allen’s clutch three in Game 2 vs Miami.  It’s understandable though, since Ray is gone now and loathed by many C’s fans, as well as it being a monster accomplishment by Pierce.  Moving on, we get a matchup against the C’s back court starters, one a huge defenisve play while the other faked Kevin Durant out of the lane.

Seed #5 – Avery Bradley owns Dwyane Wade: Riding a 6-out-of-7 game winning streak, including four straight, the Celtics had a long-awaited matchup with Miami on April Fool’s Day.  Avery Bradley had recently been thrust into the starting lineup due to Ray Allen’s ankle injury, then Mikeal Pietrus’ concussion.  But there was no fooling by AB on this day.  Just ask DWade who got completely owned on this rejection.  Sure, Shane Battier makes the quick heads up play by drilling the three, but it’s Bradley’s block that got Wade’s (and everyone else’s) attention.

Seed #28 – Rondo Fakes Durant: Early during the lockout shortened season, the Celtics actually played OKC close until Russell Westbrook took over and shot the Celtics off their home floor.  For the majority of the pre-all-star season, the C’s looked old, slow and toasted.  There were some nice plays though, including this fake by Rondo on Durant on MLK Day that provided a sneak peek of things to come.
