GreenLight Madness: Celtics Top 64 Plays (#17 Seed vs #48 Seed)

Yesterday’s GreenLight Madness matchup featured the debuts of both Glen Davis (executing an absurd reverse slam against the Pacers) and Jermaine O’Neal with a nice posterization of Andray Blatche.  Today, some of the regulars make a return to the tournament with some blazing speed and clutch playoff shooting.

Seed #17: Delonte and Ray Hit Clutch Threes (2011 G4 ECSF vs MIA) – The Celtics were trailing the Heat with about 3 minutes to go by a mere 3 points in a tight, pivotal Game 4 at the Garden.  As Rajon Rondo rushes the ball up the floor, he gets it to Paul Pierce.  Pierce drives to the basket, drawing nearly every Miami defender and leaving Delonte West open for a left-baseline three.  Delonte drills it and ties the game.  Then, on the next possession, Pierce again finds the man in the corner, this time it’s Ray Allen.  As he has since he’s been here, Ray buries a three to give the Celtics the lead with just over 2 minutes left.  The rest of the game was nothing short of taking a drop-kick to the head, but nonetheless, these threes were beyond clutch.

Seed #48: Rondo in 4 Seconds or Less – Just before halftime during a home game against the Phoenix Suns, Grant Hill misses the second of two free throws.  Rondo wastes no time, or speed, and does what I like to call “The Rondo Drill” and goes the length of the court in less than 4 seconds to score the lay-up.
