Congrats to the fellow TD Garden residents, the Boston Bruins on winning the Stanley Cup last night! The city of Boston has now become the city of GRAND SLAM champions in the past seven years. Just truly astounding to put that in perspective.
Today's Madness matchup features Paul Pierce going up against, well, himself. Remember playing The Legend of Zelda Part II on the original Nintendo, and the final fight was Link versus himself? Well this is sort of like that but not really. Anyway, this pair of Pierce plays were both fantastic.
Seed #21 – Pierce Blocks Toney Douglas Rondo gets the Lay Up – Early during Game 2 against the Knicks in the playoffs, Toney Douglas has a rare small victory against Rajon Rondo as he blows by him seemingly for an easy lay-up. Pierce comes over from the weak-side and rejects the attempt, allowing Rondo to jump out on the break and get the lay-up himself.

Seed #44 – Pierce Posterizes the Pacers Again – During a late March game against the Pacers at Indiana, Ray Allen rebounds a Pacer miss and gets the fast break going. Pierce posterizes Roy Hibbert for the second time in less than two weeks with the loud one-handed slam.
