The NBA Finals may be taking a couple of days off to switch locations from Miami to Dallas, but this tournament will continue on. Speaking of South Beach, today's matchup takes us back there during Game 1 against the Heat, when Ray Allen drilled one of the most absurd three-pointers of the season. Matching up with Ray's bomb is an explosive play on the defensive end of the court by Kevin Garnett. While this dismissive block of Jason Maxiell did not occur in the playoffs, consider it small slice of payback from the 2008 ECF when Maxiell rejected a KG slam attempt in Detroit.
Seed #9: Ray Allen's Absurd Three (Game 1 ECSF) – With about 5 minutes left in Game 1 and the Celtics trailing by 11, they finally showed signs of life and made a late rally. After LeBron James airballs a floater in the lane, Rajon Rondo swoops in from the baseline for the rebound and flies out to start the fast break. Rondo notices that it's quickly a solo-run until he catches Ray Allen heading towards the left baseline, right in front of Miami's bench. Rondo dishes it to Ray who unloads a bomb while seemingly floating into the sea of Miami fans and drills it. Dwyane Wade can only turn to his bench and raise his arms up as if to say "what else can I do?!?!"

Seed #56: KG Blocks Maxiell – This game is most famous for being known as Shaq's last regular season game, but KG came up with a nasty swipe on Jason Maxiell. Maxiell pulls down an offensive rebound and thinks he's got a clear path to a loud slam, especially with his size and strength. Instead of trying to out-beef him, KG uses his defensive savvy and swipe-blocks Maxiell perfectly, igniting a fast break.
On the other end, KG delivers a sweet no-look pass to a cutting Glen Davis who gets absolutely obliterated by an embarrassingly enraged Maxiell. KG gets under the skin of yet another opponent, and unfortunately for Big Baby, he has to feel the wrath. Random thought: I'll always remember Antoine Walker for this type of "swipe-block." Walker was never known as even a below average defender, but this one move he did very well amazingly. (Side note: almost forgot to mention that Pierce's no-look pass to Krstic won the last matchup taking nearly 70% of the vote).
