The Celtics had quite a few rim rocking powerful dunks this year, with Brandon Bass easily leading the team in that category (yes that’s an official RedsArmy stat). There were none more exciting than the one featured in today’s matchup. KG’s put-back slam was great as well, but something tells me that Bass’ posterization will advance.
Seed #6 – Bass Poterizes Wade (Game 7 2012 ECF): Capping off a monster first half during Game 7 of the ECF with 14 points, Bass stepped into Wade’s lazy passing lane and tipped a steal to himself on the break. With only Wade retreating on defense, Bass attacked him and posterized him with ferocity. It gave the C’s an eleven point lead which was huge at the time, but like many big leads in deciding games, they just couldn’t hold. But in real time, when this play happened, it was nothing short of being an EFF-YOU moment to Miami. In Game 7, these plays resonate just a tick louder.

Seed #11: KG’s Put-Back Slam vs Atlanta, Game 3 ECSF – The Celtics had tied the series with a legendary performance by Paul Pierce in Game 2. They were playing an Atlanta team without Josh Smith, Zaza Pachulia and Al Horford and it was still a grind, still one of the ugliest playoff games you’ll ever see. Rajon Rondo returned and played well, but it wasn’t until the final play in OT that sealed the nail-biter. Off a hand-off, Rondo does his patented ball-fake to get his man in the air. It worked perfectly until he missed the lay-up, but like Pierce did in Game 2, KG saved Rondo, this time with a huge follow-up slam. That gave the Celtics the lead, and the win.
