Hats off to Greg Olsen- Offensive Coordinator

BlountThe usual hero for the Bucs is on the offense, and a lot of the time its Josh Freeman.
Or LeGarrette Blount. Perhaps Mike Williams.

Yesterday at Raymond James, the hero of the day was Bucs offensive Coordinator Greg Olsen, who called an awesome game.

Most importantly, he did NOT abandon the game plan, despite the fact that LeGarrette Blount was not entirely successful in dominating the running attack. Yet Olsen continued to use Blount, and in the fourth quarter, with the Bucs in the 4 minute offense trying to run out the clock, Blount put up several 6 yard runs against the Falcons defense.

Olsen took the criticism for the week one loss to the Lions who got up on the Bucs early, and made Tampa Bay panic to the point they abandoned their running game. Blount had 5 carries all game week 1.
Last week he had 5 carries through the first half, but exploded for long runs in the second half against Minnesota.

While he didnt have those big 20 yard runs against Atlanta, it was the 3-5 yard pick ups that hurt the Falcons the most. In a game that Josh Freeman did not have his best day, its good to the know the Bucs were able to win the game with the players on offense around him. That, is a credit to the offensive coordinator for calling a great game.
