- The Story: Wally Joyner will represent the Angels at the upcoming MLB Draft. The Monkey Says: Wally World!!! Nice to see him back doing PR for the Angels even if he did abruptly retire for being a cheater (which is actually a very stand-up thing to do, Alex Rodriguez).
- The Story: Juan Rivera missed Wednesday’s game with a sore knee. The Monkey Says: Rivera is going to be fine, but Sosh wanted to get him some extra rest, so no worries here… other than the fact that Rivera still isn’t hitting when healthy.
- The Story: Jeff Mathis is pleased with the results from his first swings. The Monkey Says: Good news for Jeff and his busted wrist. He still remains weeks away from a return though.
- The Story: A shorter swing is helping Mike Napoli go deep. The Monkey Says: Whatever Naps is doing is working just fine and he needs to keep it up, especially with the news of Jeff Mathis progressing through his rehab.
- The Story: The Mathis-Napoli-Matsui triangle. The Monkey Says: An interesting notion that the return of Mathis is more likely to cost Matsui playing time, but I am not sure I buy it. The Angels have invested in Matsui (if only for a year) and know they need him to come around if they are ever going to get over the hump.
- The Story: The new 4:05 start time for some Angel home games is not going over well. The Monkey Says: Agreed, not only are the games lacking in attendance but the sun at that time is screwing with the players… plus, I can’t get home in time to watch the whole game and that is just inexcusable.
- The Story: Several Santas visited Angel Stadium recently. The Monkey Says: Yeah, slow news day.
