Halo Headlines – 5/4/10

  • The Story: Are the Angels not as good as they thought they were?   The Monkey Says: The answer is definitely a yes, especially after last night’s game, but there is still hope.  The bullpen has been a huge problem for the Angels and the rotation hasn’t been as solid as they thought, but there is still plenty of time for both to turn around.  The offense, however, seems fatally flawed to me at this point since it has become a mismatched combination of speed-action guys and overly-patient thumpers.
  • The Story: Kendry Morales and Hideki Matsui switched spots in the batting order last night.   The Monkey Says: Let the line-up tinkering begin!!!  K-Mo probably should have been batting fourth from the very get go as he needs protection more than Matsui does since Kendry is more prone to chasing bad pitches.  Let’s see if this sticks though.
  • The Story: Bobby Wilson has been cleared to practice.   The Monkey Says: This is obviously great news for Wilson, but there is still no timetable for his return but it sounds like he should be back by the end of the month.
  • The Story: What to do about Joe Saunders?   The Monkey Says: I am definitely in the camp of either optioning him to the minors to work out his issues or making up an injury so he can go on the DL and then rehab in the minors so he can save the embarrassment of actually being optioned.
