- The controversy over their former supervisor of international scouting, Clay Daniels, is pretty much forcing the Angels to sit out the internation signing period this year, though they are trying to sign Ervin Santana’s brother.
- Brian Fuentes’ is so deceptive that even his teammates have a hard time just playing catch with him. And, yes, that was a lengthy piece in the LA Times showing just what a slow news cycle it is in Halo Land right now.
- PUFF PIECE ALERT: Brian Fuentes has battled through a slow start and the transition to the American League to emerge as an All-Star and elite closer.
- One internet columnist apparently feels like the Angels are jerks because not enough of them speak English. And what a great point that is, how dare these players who typically come from abject poverty where they can’t get even a grade school education focus their time and effort on becoming better at their trade and not on learning English so they don’t need a translator when they do an interview once a month. Way to be ignorant, Bucky Fox.
- The Angels continue to be mentioned as one of the leading contenders for Roy Halladay even though they lack an elite prospect to offer Toronto (the Angels have no prospects in Baseball America’s Top 50).
