- The Story: Even John Lackey wants the Angels to trade for Roy Halladay. The Monkey Says: That is a big endorsement for the Halos seeing how Lackey’s impending free agency is allegedly the reason the team wants to acquire Doc in the first place.
- The Story: With the Phillies trading for Cliff Lee, it is highly possible that the Angels are the only legitimate suitor left in the Halladay sweepstakes. The Monkey Says: The line of logic makes a ton of sense. The only catch is that there are rumors that Halladay will block any trade to the West Coast with his no-trade clause. Yeah, because Toronto winters are so much better than California winters.
- The Story: Howie Kendrick credits his demotion for helping him get back on track. The Monkey Says: Thank you, Captain Obvious.
- The Story: Robert Mosebach was demoted to the minors yesterday with no corresponding player being called up. The Monkey Says: I want believe Mosebach was demoted to make room for an incoming trade, but it probably is more to do with the fact that he just isn’t very good and the Angels want to take a look at someone else.
- The Story: The Angels are looking to add depth in general at the trade deadline. The Monkey Says: BORING! C’mon, Reagins. Just say you want Halladay and you’re going to get him, no matter what. Enough of this PC crap.
