The October 8, 2015 edition of Los Angeles Angels news includes Grant Green clearing waivers, Hunter Green getting back on the hill after a host of injuries, and more…

The Story: Grant Green clears waivers, is outrighted to AAA

MWAH Says: Green remains within the organization for now, but don’t expect him to stay. He’s eligible for minor-league free agency this winter as a sixth-year player, so odds are pretty good he’ll try moving on to an organization that won’t bench him in favor of Taylor Featherston. Wherever he ends up, we wish him the best.

The Story: Hunter Green, Taylor Ward headline Angels at instructs

MWAH Says: After two years of injuries, Hunter Green is finally back on the mound in the Angels’ instructional league. The expectations for the now 20-year-old lefty are about as low as they come, with Scott Servais hopeful he can just stay healthy through Spring Training next March. If/when he gets there, then maybe we can start dreaming on the former top pick again. Taylor Ward, meanwhile, continues to turn heads at the plate and is now working to shore up his approach behind it.

The Story: Conor Gillaspie, Vinnie Pestano elect for free agency

MWAH Says: The first of several players that will leave the organization in the next month. Both guys are still arbitration-eligible but get to test the open market because they have more than three years of big-league service time and finished the season not on a 40-man roster. The odds of their coming back to Anaheim don’t seem great, but they’re locks to get a Spring Training invite somewhere.

The Story: What the Angels should do this winter

MWAH Says: The folks as Angels Win break down what they want to see from the club this winter. Jason Heyward, Ben Zobrist, and Kyle Schwarber come up.
