The April 13, 2016 edition of Los Angeles Angels news includes the team electing not to rearrange the rotation after their off-day on Thursday, Mike Trout dunking in a shootaround with the Warriors, and more…

The Story: Rotation won’t get rearranged for weekend series in Minnesota

MWAH Says: I was really hoping they’d at least push Weaver back to Sunday so he could get another day game, but it’s not happening. For now, the staff will stick to its Richards, Weaver, Tropeano arrangement.

The Story: Angels visit Warriors practice; Trout can dunk

MWAH Says: Of course he can. You could tell me Mike was going to lead the U.S. Swim Team at the Olympics in Rio this summer and I would believe you. Joe Smith apparently beat Steph Curry yesterday in a game of “P-I-G”, which is like “H-O-R-S-E” only tastier.

The Story: Hector Santiago’s new approach leads to more efficiency

MWAH Says: I’m always hesitant to get pulled into the #narrative on something like this, especially this early in the season. Tuesday’s start was great, but it was just one start. If he’s still pitching late into games and posting a career-best walk rate come July, then I’m all in.

The Story: Roberto Baldoquin aggravates hamstring injury in High-A game

MWAH Says: Dude just can’t seem to stay on the field long enough for the Angels to know whether he’s prospect they were hoping for when they doled out $13 million for him. No idea how long this one will sideline him, but I imagine they’ll take it super slow now that he hit a setback in his first game back.

The Story: 2015 rebound gives resilient Kaleb Cowart confidence for 2016

MWAH Says: I hope that confidence manifests itself in Cowart’s performance on the field, because I have a feeling he’s going to play a bigger role than expected in Anaheim this season.

The Story: Red Sox sign LHP Wesley Wright to a minor-league deal

MWAH Says: The lefty specialist has bounced around a bit since finding his way into the Angels bullpen late last season. He started the year with the Diamondbacks, but was released just before the season opened.

The Story: Braves LF Hector Olivera arrested following domestic disturbance

MWAH Says: Olivera was arrested after a violent incident at the team hotel early this morning. He was immediately placed on leave by MLB and is looking at a lengthy suspension in addition to misdemeanor assault and battery charges. I hope they bring the hammer down on both him and Jose Reyes.

The Story: Judge recommends approval of Charter-Time Warner Cable merger

MWAH Says: Theoretically, this will move the company closer to working out deals with DirecTV, et al. to carry the Dodgers. In reality, it’ll probably do jack squat. Gonna be hilarious when the TV bubble bursts and these billion-dollar companies are fighting over something as absurd as marginal differences in carrier fees.
