The Story: Angels rotation plans still in flux
MWAH Says: An off-day on April 6, after the two-game opening series vs the Cubs, means the Angels could break camp with a four-man rotation and not have to worry about guys pitching on short rest until April 11. That’d mean Shoemaker and Tropeano both start in Triple-A, and allows the team to keep Deolis or Javy Guerra around for an extra week as bullpen depth. Sounds like a solid plan to me.
The Story: Skaggs got inspiration from Kobe Bryant before Thursday outing
MWAH Says: I really hope this means Skaggs whispered “Kobe!” to himself before throwing each pitch yesterday. Best part of this article: Skaggs texted former D’Backs teammate Matt Davidson before the game saying he felt really good about his curveball. He then faced Davidson in the game and struck him out with three straight fastballs. Savage.
