The May 3, 2016 edition of Los Angeles Angels news includes Tyler Skaggs getting shut down for a week because of biceps tendinitis, Ron Roenicke returning to Miller Park for the first time since being fired, and more…
The Story: MRI reveals biceps tendinitis for Tyler Skaggs
MWAH Says: Skaggs will take a week off, then try throwing again. So far as shoulder injuries go this was probably the best-case scenario, but it means he won’t be the one taking Matt Shoemaker’s place in the rotation come May 14. Maybe by the end of the month, though?
The Story: Ron Roenicke returns to Milwaukee for the first time
MWAH Says: That has to be the most awkward thing. I would not want to return to any workplace that had fired me, let alone one that let me go in favor of a person with absolutely zero experience. Hopefully Roenicke will find some catharsis waving a bunch of Angels runners home the next couple days.
The Story: Angels to scout Tim Lincecum showcase
MWAH Says: They’ll reportedly be one of 11 teams on hand to watch the two-time Cy Young winner pitch on Friday. I have no great hopes for Lincecum at this point, but a minor-league deal wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world. Probably a better option than Cory Rasmus or Nate Smith.
The Story: Ji-Man Choi haunted by ghost at Milwaukee’s Pfister Hotel
MWAH Says: *Sigh* I realize this article is supposed to be in good fun, but it is painful to read. Ghosts? Really? C’mon.
The Story: Texas Notes: Chad Hinshaw healthy, focused
MWAH Says: Hinshaw’s numbers haven’t yet demonstrated that he’s healthy and focused, but I’m hopeful they’ll get there. The team obviously still views him as a future fourth outfielder, but they might not for much longer if he struggles at Double-A again.
