The October 19, 2015 edition of Los Angeles Angels news includes Jered Weaver reflecting on a disappointing season, Matt Klentak taking an interview with the Phillies, and more..

The Story: Weaver hopes to rebound in 2016

MWAH Says: The first of what I’m sure will be several stories this winter about guys looking to “get back on track” or “hit the reset button.” Really feel like the best-case scenario for Weaver is just to not have his velocity drop any lower than it already is. The way he’s been steadily losing zip the last several years, expecting him to suddenly rediscover a mid- to high-80’s fastball is asking way too much. Guessing there will be at least one BSOHL story about Weaver come spring.

The Story: Matt Klentak interviews with Phillies

MWAH Says: Klentak’s name has been tied to the Phillies GM gig since pretty much the day Ruben Amaro was asked not to return. Royals assistant GM J.J. Picollo is considered a heavy favorite for the job right now, but that doesn’t mean things won’t change. With Klentak, Scott Servais, Hal Morris, and Tim Bogar all getting calls from around the league, Billy Eppler might have some front-office building to do in the coming month.

The Story: Angels are Final Jeopardy! answer

MWAH Says: Sorry for the spoiler if you haven’t watched Friday’s episode yet. The clue, about the team’s full name being a double redundancy when translated, isn’t technically accurate. If you say “Los Angeles Angels” it’s only one redundancy. No one says “Los Angeles the Angels,” which would be the double redundancy. Also, the full name is still Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, which no one mentioned, so the Jeopardy! clue writers dropped the ball on this one.

The Story: Angels arms get roasted in AFL action

MWAH Says: Ryan Etsell, Greg Mahle, and Harrison Cooney combined to give up 12 runs in just four innings of work on Friday. Alan Busenitz also pitched in the game and miraculously recorded a scoreless inning. The four have allowed 16 runs in 7.1 IP through four games so far. Not great.

The Story: The Angels Fan Cruise is back

MWAH Says: Hector Santiago, Matt Shoemaker, and Carlos Perez are confirmed for this year’s three-day tour up and down the West Coast. Probably a lot of fun if cruises are your thing. Probably hell if they aren’t.
