The Rangers have announced that Henrik Lundqvist has been named Daniel Alfredsson’s assistant captain for the Jan. 29 game at Ottawa.
As assistant captain Lundqvist will join his Alfredsson in selecting Team Alfredsson at the Jan. 26 All-Star Player Fantasy Draft.
Team Alfredsson will be coached by Tortorella and San Jose’s Todd McLellan.
…what a great honor for Lundqvist. Also a smart move by Alfredsson to get the league’s best goaltender on his team.
