When Chuck and I were coming up with the name for this site 5 years ago… we thought to ourselves… "what are we a Celtics fans?" If we're Celtics fans, we're Red Auerbach fans. So that means we follow Red. Red is our leader… our General… and that means we fans are members of his army.
Red is our our leader, forever and always. He was born on this day in 1917. Put on this earth to build the one of the greatest professional sports franchises in all of history. It was a job well done.
Thanks Red. Happy Birthday. If you have an opportunity to light up a cigar at some point today, I'm sure Red will be happy to join you.
