It’s hard to believe that two short years ago to this day, North Texas Fisticuffs started as a low-level blog on Blogger. Discontented with the lack of local coverage of our beloved North Texas combative sports scene, our missing was simple: serve as a sort of conduit for local news and notes. Never, in our wildest imagination would we have envisioned the phenomenal growth and acceptance of our humble little blog.
Backed by some of the most respected voices and talents in the Metroplex, along with some truly inspiring support from the public, North Texas Fisticuffs has blossomed from the rinky-dink Blogger template to a respected member of the Bloguin network of sports blogs and kick-ass site design.
Personally, we can’t thank you all enough for the support. Unlike some in the game, we here at North Texas Fisticuffs never got into this for any financial gain. We were simply die-hard fight fans who wanted our little neck of the woods to have a voice and online presence. Critical to the success of this site was the fact that we have some of the finest photographers, writers, and industry insiders in the game lending their talents to this site.
So again, thank you goes out to you all. We couldn’t have done this without the support of the community, the fighters and boxers, and local promoters who gave us the time of day and allowed us to give the DFW the fight coverage it deserves. We hope to only grow and get better, and with your continued support, we are confident that we can achieve this.
