Happy 2015!
While amongst baseball fans there’s still some debate about whether the new year officially begins the day after the World Series ends (and the hot stove season begins) or the day that all the players report for Spring Training (and the dormant daily baseball articles once again appear), tonight’s the night we all celebrate the start of the new year.
Quickly looking back, 2014 was a good year for the Angels. The team finally turned the corner and made an appearance in the postseason for the first time in years. They led the league in runs scored and wins. Mike Trout won his first (of hopefully many) MVP awards, and several young players, such as Calhoun, Morin, and Richards took great strides forward. The bullpen, which had been a weakness at the start of the season, finished the year as a strength. The team did not need to do a major overhaul this offseason, and instead was able to fine tune key pieces, and did so without sacrificing major assets. The organization is continuing to move in the right direction.
As a website, we continued to grow. We provided more articles, from more writers, and continued to be the internet home for Angels baseball. We had thousands of posts and hundreds of thousands of responses. We raised thousands of dollars for charity and supported worthy causes. Though we lost one of our distinguished voices, we’ve had plenty of newcomers join the site and bring forth new discussion. We held another incredible Fanfest, and are hard at work planning the event for 2015. We made it past our first decade of existence, and look forward to the next. What Chuck Richter started a decade ago for Angels baseball fans to gather has grown into so much more, thanks to all of you.
So, happy new year AngelsWin.com. May you all have a happy, healthy, and prosperous 2015!
