Has Carson Wentz leaped Jared Goff as top QB in 2016 NFL Draft?

There seems to be a major buzz on North Dakota State quarterback Carson Wentz, so much so, that he’s apparently leaped over California’s Jared Goff as the top QB in the upcoming draft- depending on who you ask.

SBNation has Wentz jumping all the way up to the No. 4 overall spot with the Dallas Cowboys, who definitely need an heir apparent to Tony Romo.

CBS Sports has Wentz going No. 2 to Cleveland, with Goff falling to the 49ers at No. 7.

Goff was considered by many, especially after his bowl performance MVP game, to be the best QB in the 2016 Class, but now Wentz may have taken, or at worst, given Goff a run for his money. It looked for while like Goff might be the only QB taken in the first round, but now, we’re looking at two QBs in the top 10 selections.

The buzz on Wentz seems to be his physical attributes in comparison to Goff’s. Wentz has the frame (6’5 233 pounds), and a big arm, while Goff’s strongest attribute is his pocket presence and his ability to execute a quick strike offense, similar to one that Chip Kelly runs.

Paxton Lynch, who was the consensus one until his bowl game performance, appears set to be the third QB taken off the board, with Los Angeles being the likely destination.
