For my money, there is nothing better than catching a fight in the confines of an outdoor arena. There is just something special about the open air filled with the energy and adrenaline a fight card brings.
However, just as the joy of catching a fight against the backdrop of Mother Nature offers up an exhilarating atmosphere, so too does it brings with it its own set of issues. Chief among these issues is the unpredictability of the weather.
Tonight, fight fans in the DFW will be treated to an intriguing matchup between Oak Cliff’s own Charles “The Future” Hatley and the immortal Emmanuel Augustus that headlined the Black Gloves Promotions fight card taking place at the QuickTrip Park in Grand Prairie.
Of course, many were afraid that the steady downpour of rain that has besieged the DFW Metroplex since last night would cause the delay, or cancelation of tonight’s fight card. Which is why it is reassuring to hear that tonight’s fight card will in fact take place despite the rain earlier today. Below is Quick Trip Park’s official statement:
“Despite the rain at QuikTrip Park this morning, Fight Night at QuikTrip Park is still scheduled for tonight. Gates will open at 6:30pm and the first fight will take place at 7:30pm. Please stayed posted to airhogsbaseball.com for the most up – to – date information.”
