Yesterday, Trevon Grimes, a Buckeye commitment underwent arthroscopic knee surgery to repair his torn ACL that he suffered in the game against Bishop-Gorman back in September. It appears that Grimes was in good spirits heading into the surgery and all went well per a tweet sent after. Grimes will miss the rest of the season, and should hopefully be on the same recovery path that former teammate Nick Bosa was on last year after suffering the same injury. If all goes according to plan, Grimes should be able to come in and provide an immediate impact on the offensive side of the ball for the Buckeyes.
TreVon wants you all to know he is doing well and he thanks you for all of the prayers 🙏🏽 #GoBucks⭕️🙌🏽

Notre Dame Loses, Then Loses Recruit:
On September 19th, Donovan Jeter unexpectedly committed to Notre Dame after a visit to watch them play Michigan State. Fast forward a month and he has already decided that that decision was a mistake and has backed off said commitment. His initial final teams were Ohio State, Alabama, Penn State, Pittsburgh and Tennessee. He then added Notre Dame and Michigan and then picked the Irish.

It seems that his heart still might be with the Irish, but he didn’t want to go on visits as a Notre Dame commit so he decommitted and will be making visits. It is doubtful the Buckeyes will still be active in recruiting Jeter, as they have their sights set on Utah’s Jay Tufele. If things were to trend away from Tufele then maybe Jeter comes back into play.

ESPN ($) took a look at the mid-season recruiting rankings in the Big Ten and had nothing but good things to say about the Buckeyes.
Ohio State has the No. 1 class in the country and has a very realistic shot of holding on to that title come signing day. A Big Ten team has never finished No. 1 in the final class rankings.
With five-star defensive back Jeffrey Okudah looking very likely in this class and ESPN 300 targets Baron Browning, Cam Akers, Bubba Bolden and Jay Tufele still strongly considering Ohio State very, the Buckeyes could continue the success they have seen so far.
The class is currently comprised of 17 total commitments, 16 of which are ESPN 300 prospects. The only commit who isn’t ranked in the ESPN 300 is kicker Blake Haubeil.
Defensive back Shaun Wade is the top-ranked commitment followed by offensive lineman Josh Myers and receiver Trevon Grimes.
Indiana Corner Sets Ohio State Visit:
Donald Johnson, a 3-star cornerback out if Indianapolis has been hearing from Kerry Coombs lately, and has set up an unofficial visit for October 29th to see Ohio State. Johnson currently holds one offer from Bowling Green, but has visited Notre Dame and Indiana as well.
Johnson spoke to 247Sports about his conversation with Coombs.
“Coach Kerry Coombs from Ohio state contacted me and says he’s been hearing a lot of good things about me,” Johnson said.
