4-Star Virginia Athlete Gets Buckeye Offer:
The Buckeyes have been getting more and more involved in the 2018 recruiting cycle as the 2017 one winds down. Ohio State is reaching into the fertile recruiting ground of Virginia, and recently put out an offer to 4-Star athlete K’Vaughan Pope. Pope is a 6’2″ 210 lb. wide receiver/linebacker for his high school team, and currently has eight offers from schools like Florida, Clemson, South Carolina and N.C. State.
Pope is ranked as the #5 overall athlete in the class of 2018, and the 4th best prospect out of the state of Virginia.

The Offer Train Continues for Florida Wide Receiver:
Yesterday the Buckeyes put out another offer to a 4-star wide receiver, this time from the state of Florida. Kevin Austin, out of Pompano Beach, added the Buckeye offer to his already impressive list consisting of Miami, Notre Dame, North Carolina and Michigan State.
Austin has already visited Miami and Georgia Tech unofficially so far this season. He is ranked as the 43rd best wide receiver in the country, and the 40th best prospect in the state of Florida.

Cam Akers,Trey Smith and Jay Tufele Set Officials:
Just when you thought the Buckeyes were on the outside looking in for 5-star running back Cam Akers out of Mississippi, he goes and sets an official for the biggest game of the year when the Buckeyes battle Michigan on November 26th. Not only will he be attending, but he will have some company as long time Tennessee lean Trey Smith will be attending the game as an official visit as well. Utah’s Jay Tufele announced today that he too will be in attendance on an official visit which will be his second of the year.

Akers is ranked as the 6th overall prospect in the nation and the 2nd ranked running back. Smith is also a 5-star prospect and he is ranked as the 5th overall prospect and 3rd ranked offensive tackle in the country.
Akers was once a strong lean to the Buckeyes, but since then he has visited other schools like Florida State and Georgia, and is scheduled to visit Michigan next weekend. The Buckeyes are still the crystal ball favorites, and would love to have him come aboard as the second back in this class along with JK Dobbins.
Smith has been a strong Tennessee lean since the outset, and it would be a shock to see him anywhere but Knoxville in the end. This will be his second official visit after he went to Ole Miss back in October.
Tufele has been linked to the Buckeyes for quite some time, however his recent official to Michigan had some insiders worried that he might be trending away from the Buckeyes. It will be an important visit to lock up the 3rd ranked defensive tackle and #1 prospect out of the state of Utah. Tufele is expected to make his announcement at the U.S. Army All-American Game on January 7th, 2017.
