LeBron James and Dwyane Wade dominated Indiana’s home court Tuesday night as they led their team to a victory over the Pacers to even the series 1-1. The All-Star duo always make redemption look easy when it’s time to duke it out against their teams competitors. It may not be a walk in the park making plays against the enemy, but they sure do make it a lot more laid back for their teammates to add on to the thrashing.
“That’s why they’re the hundred million dollar guys,” teammate Norris Cole said. “They’re unstoppable. They make the game easy for everyone else when they’re in attack mode.”
Wade finished the game with 23 points, while James added 22 to defeat the Pacers 87-83. Both players had an amazing first half. Wade scored 13 points in the Heat’s 41 point first half, while finishing with 10 points in the fourth. James managed to score the first 6 points in a decisive 12-2 run, finishing with 12 points in the fourth. Together they prevented Miami from falling into a 2-0 trap.
Lance Stephenson tied his playoff career high with 25 points for the Pacers. Paul George scored 14.
Let’s not forget Paul George and Dwyane Wade’s collision on the court. George and Wade collided while chasing a loose ball, both came up grimacing. After the collision Wade held his left knee, but managed to be in good shape shortly after the incident. However, George briefly blacked out and suffered blurred vision for the remainder of the game. After Indiana’s lost George was diagnosed with a concussion. He will be subject to the league’s concussion protocol and must be symptom-free for 24 hours before being cleared to play.
“It’s not going to be pretty. Not in the Eastern Conference,” James said. “It’s never pretty basketball in the Eastern Conference. It’s about who can sustain runs. You know, who can get defensive stops? Who can not turn the ball over and who can get great shots? I think we did that in the fourth.”
Well the Heat certainly proved themselves Tuesday night, despite the collision with Dwyane Wade and Paul George. Saturday, May 24 at 8:30 PM Eastern Time the Heat will take it home to Miami. This should be a great advantage over the Pacers after that strong win in game 2. Let’s hope everyone is healthy and ready to play some ball.
“The fortunate thing about it is that we have days in between the games, which he’s able to recover by Saturday,” Wade said of George. “Hopefully all is well and he’s out there and he’s Paul George on Saturday. We want to make sure both teams have all of their weapons.”
